We spent New Year's Eve at my Grandma's we made tacos had lots of snacks even some pie. Watched TV played some games and then it was the New Year. We had noise makers and all kinds of obnoxious things to bring in the New Year. The girls were really into it... I'm not even surprised that they stayed awake.

Hotel Del Cornado

New Years Eve we were spending at my Grandmas but on the way to her house we took a detour and headed out to Coronado Island to see the Hotel del Coronado all decorated for Christmas before they took it down the next day.

The inside of the Hotel is decorated so beautifully for Christmas. The tree in the lobby is magnificent and so huge. They have so many decorations on it you can barley see the tree.

The Sucker

Since Rowynne had fallen asleep on the last ride at Disneyland and had continued to stay asleep until we left the park she never got to see her sucker that we had gotten to pick out for her. She is a lover of lollipops and Cory and I both thought that it would be a perfect souvenir for her to have. But since she fell asleep we had picked it out without her.. I had wanted her to do it herself but alas she refused to stay awake long enough to do so.

When we arrived back home however she had woken up a little from the transfer from Car to House so we decided to giver it to her then. Obviously it was a bad choice because she was indeed very tired as she wouldn't even smile for a sucker!

We finally got a smile out of her after a little coaxing

The next morning we let her dig in! She loved our choice of sucker!

Disney Day 2

December 30, 2011 -

Disney Day 2... Well since the day before had been long and we were super tired, we got a later start than the day before but headed over first to Fantasy Land to do the few rides that we had missed the day before. Our first ride was Peter Pan... I have to say its one of my favorites. I love that you feel like your flying... it is so cool.

We got Rowynne a balloon the second day... We just couldn't pass it up Balloons are one of her favorite things. She would freak out every time some one would walk by selling them.

After our Peter Pan ride we met up with Cory's parents who had gotten us a fast pass for Indiana Jones and offered to take the girls for us so we could ride.

It was great! I forgot how bumpy that ride is I must be getting old!

After we parted with the Ivins gang we headed over to the Tikki Room. I thought that Rowynne would like because the plants and birds all sing. It was a big success... Rowynne loved the birds. Plus even Kynnedi got into it, it was the only time she was actually kicking and moving around.

It felt like she was trying to jump right out of the baby carrier!

We even talked Daddy into it, he had been saying No Way all day, he was afraid it would make him sick. But he was a trooper and got on anyways and he even made us spin a few times.

Our last ride at Disneyland was Pirates. We finally hooked up with Mark and Lynnette and they got to ride it with us. Once again Rowynne fell asleep during Pirates, she had fallen asleep on it the day before too!

Disney Day 1

Other than getting to have Christmas with my family the California trip was made for additional reasons. One being that the American Fork Marching Band (hence Regan and Chersty) were going to be playing at Disneyland and the Rose Parade. So part of our reasons for coming down were to see them play, and how cool we get to go to Disneyland twice for free.... Thanks Mark and Lynnette!

I have been so excited for this Disneyland trip I haven't gone since my family had year passes while I was in High School and Cory hadn't been since he was little. Plus I have two little girls... what couldn't be more fun! I knew that Rowynne was still a little small to enjoy everything but I figured we would still have a blast as a family.

Our very first ride at Disneyland was the Jungle Cruise. It was so great it was still early so it wasn't too crowded yet we were able to almost walk right onto the ride. I think this was a fun ride to start with for Rowynne. I think everything was still a little overwhelming at first... I don't think she had any idea what was going on. But she warmed up eventually.

After the Jungle Cruise we met up with Kyle and Danielle and we all headed in the direction of the Haunted Mansion. I was hoping since it was still all decorated for Christmas it wouldn't be as scary... but it scared her so bad that she wet her pants. I felt like such a bad parent she was totally crying through the entire elevator experience... which if you don't remember is still pretty creepy. Once we were actually on the ride and the music was going you started hearing the"ohhs and ahhhs" from Rowynne. So maybe she won't be completely scarred.

After the scariness that was the Haunted Mansion we decided to make a happy detour to go see Winnie the Pooh. It was a much happier experience, Rowynne loved it!

I was so glad that we were able to bring down the double stroller... it was such a life saver!

Since we had the girls in tow with us at Disneyland we spent most of our time in Fantasy Land... since well that was were most of the rides we could take both Rowynne and the Baby on were.

I love fantasy land.. all your favorite Disney movies brought to life!

Rowynne in line for Pinocchio... she was so excited when we would get to the front of the line where she could actually see the ride. She would always either try and climb through the bars or push past the people to try and get on. However for not even being 2 she did AWESOME waiting in the lines. And boy did we wait in some long lines. Disneyland was so packed that they actually stopped letting people into the park. It was crazy.

Rowynne was fascinated by all the little cool details around the rides.

She would always try and look in all the windows and see all the fun displays.

After quite a crazy time in Fantasy Land we took a break to watch the Christmas Parade and see the American Fork Marching Band play. However Rowynne fell asleep.. which was good for her she needed the rest but a bummer because she totally missed the parade and the band!

I mean how often do you get to see your family perform at Disneyland! It reminded me when we used to perform at Disneyland with Children's Chorus growing up. We went about a dozen times with that group it was so fun, getting to see the behind the scenes of Disneyland!

Then after the Band the Christmas Parade began....

My sister always wanted to be one of the Princesses in the Parade but my mom used to tease my sister and I that the only thing we could be in the Disney Parade was the reindeer's because we were so tall! So sad!

Kynnedi finally decided to wake up... I swear she slept 90% of the time we were in the park. I think the stroller and being carried in the baby sling kept rocking her to sleep.

After the sun went down it got a little chilly and the bear suite came out for Kynnedi.

It was great because it kept her nice and snugly warm without worrying about carrying around a blanket. Plus it was fun to hear all the "ahhh how cute" every time we walked by.

Small World in LIGHTS

My sister made sure that we wouldn't miss the turning on the lights at Small World. It is a pretty crazy thing to behold. So many lights on all at once. Rowynne was in light heaven! She just kept screaming Lights, Lights!

After small world we headed over to Dumbo. Rowynne loved the fact that she got to hold the feather when it was our turn. Kynnedi however did not like the wind factor of the Dumbo ride! I kept trying to cover her face because it kept taking her breath away.

The Castle all in lights... Christmas time at Disneyland is seriously a whole different Disneyland. If you haven't seen Disneyland at Christmas time you are definitely missing out!

Our first day at Disneyland was such a blast.... I can't believe we get to do it all again tomorrow!

Turkey

After Thanksgiving Cory came home one day with a Turkey because they had all gone on sale. I was a little nervous because honestly I have never cooked a turkey in my entire life. I mean I have eaten a ton but it had never been my responsibility to cook one and I didn't even know where to begin. So I actually asked Cory's Uncle Derek since he was the one responsible for the yummy Thanksgiving turkey I figured he would know what to do. Derek suggested some good ideas and helped me get started on cooking my turkey on my own.

This was my final result.... Yummy!

It turned out so yummy. I filled it with Oranges, Lemons, and Apples for flavor and then the secret was sticking butter under the skin. It was sort of gross and weird but it gave the turkey that beautiful golden crisp skin. Thank You Derek for the great advice, I know who to go to for cooking advice!

Almost forgot about the Peterson Family Christmas Party. We got to go to Soldiers Hollow like we did last year.. I was super excited to be able to take Rowynne this year. It would have been her first time sledding!

So as soon as we were done with our Christmas activities in Utah we got in the car packed up the girls and headed to California. We arrived in San Diego very early in the morning and immediately handed babies to Nana and headed to sleep. After Mommy and Daddy had re-cooperated from the long drive we had more Christmas. My family actually waited till we arrived to have Christmas, it was so fun to able to spend "Christmas" with both Cory's family and mine. I wish every year could be like this.

This year we drew names for all the siblings for a present exchange. Cory got Trey and I got Tarren.

Gillian got Cory in the draw and had been bragging for weeks how she got him the best present ever. And boy was she right! It was some light for the car... magnetic! He can put it anywhere while he works on the car! He loved it!

On Christmas Day after church we headed over to Cory's parents house to continue the Christmas Day extravaganza. We opened gifts.... Cory's parents got us Disneyland Tickets! We are so excited to be able to go in just a few days. Rowynne got a new baby doll with stroller and swing and a robotic dog. Probably two of her favorite things in the whole wide world. Puppies and Babies!

11/24/2011 -

Before Marley and my Mom had to leave we wanted to get a Santa picture with all three girls. We lucked out because the Mall in Sandy had Santa out even before Thanksgiving. It was perfect, although I have no idea why they had Santa so early but I can't say we were complaining.

After the Carousel we all headed over to see Santa. Nana and I were a little worried how it was going to go, I expected Rowynne to cry but we weren't sure how Marley was going to do. Marley seemed excited to see santa she talked about him in the car, walking around the mall, we thought that she would do great. However as soon as it was our turn to take a picture, Marley totally freaked. Which then made Rowynne freak! I think both girls were in tears before they were even sitting on Santa's lap. Which then made the baby start to cry. So our Santa picture this year was with all three girls in tears! Super sad, I hope next year goes a little better!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was fun this year, my Mom and Marley were still visiting us so they were able to join us at the Ivins Family Thanksgiving. This has been the second year that my mom has been able to be with us on Thanksgiving, its sort of cool since we had spent so many apart over the years with school and living in Utah I never made it home for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is the best, I'm all for any holiday were basically the only thing you do is eat and hang out with your family.

The table was beautiful as usual. Robyn always does such a wonderful job decorating for every family event. Marley was also super excited as well....

I just thought it was fun that the china we used is actually the China that Great Grandma Ivins got when they got married. How cool that it still is as beautiful as the day she got it. I wish getting china was something people still did for wedding presents. I would love to have my own set of fancy china for family gatherings some day!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas came! I thought it never would, we got up early so that we could have Christmas at home with just us and the girls and then head over to Cory's parents ward for Church with the family.

Our Christmas Tree... Santa came!

This year we sort of went cheap and got a fake tree. It made it through the whole Holiday season with only a few knock downs by Rowynne. Rowynne loved playing with the ornaments which is kind of obnoxious when your the mom, but I'm glad she enjoyed the tree this Christmas season. Next year I hope she will be big enough to leave it alone, but then Kynnedi will be just at the right age to want to knock it down again!

Kynnedi wasn't as excited as the rest of us! She slept through most of Christmas morning!

Rowynne on the other hand was very excited! She couldn't wait to get to the presents, she was really into opening them this year. It was fun to watch!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was spent at the Ivins Home, they have a big party every year and even Santa Claus comes to visit. It was fun to have all the family together, its so nice that we all live so close to each other so that we can have fun family parties together. I love Christmas it is so much fun to be with family stuffing your face with yummy food, and getting to open presents.

Danielle and Kyle are expecting a baby girl in June! So exciting for the girls to get another cousin! I can just picture the girls asking me one day if they can go play at "Addelynne's" (one of their possible names/I probably spelled it wrong sorry Kyle and Danielle) house. So fun!

Apparently this has been an Ivins Family hiding spot for all the kids over the years!

Now Rowynne can be added to that list as well.

I asked that Santa would keep my girls healthy and that we would have a safe trip driving to California.

Then it was Kynnedi's turn with Santa... So precious!

Kynnedi loved Santa she was totally cooing at him the whole time.

I think Kynnedi monopolized Santa's time, I don't think he wanted to put her down.

Rowynne didn't love Santa as much as Kynnedi did. I was worried how she was going to react, the Mall Santa always ended in tears this year so I figured the Ivins Santa would probably be a similar experience.

It was close, at least she did cry but she refused to sit on his lap. She got close enough to grab her present than ran back to Grandma. I finally coxed her into at least letting me hold her close to Santa to get a picture. Maybe next year will be better.... or worse you never know!

Kynnedi made it to 1 month. It has been a whirlwind of a month, but I wouldn't change a thing. She is such a great baby girl, she has brought so much fun to our family. I definitely think I lucked out in the baby area, I have had two of the best baby girls ever born! Kynnedi loves to smile and laugh and just loves to snuggle up with Mommy.

So if you haven't heard the "New" place to be is Sammy's. It's this little place that is famous for its Real Pie Shakes, not to mention the yummy food as well. Sammy's literally has the best shakes I have ever tasted. They are called "Real Pie" shakes because they actually put a piece of pie in your cup and mix it with ice cream. It is such a novel idea... and super delicious. If you haven't gone you need to ASAP!

Marley has been recently potty trained so while she was staying with us instead of diapers she had her new panties. Rowynne was very excited about the idea of panties. She would dig them out of the suitcase and insist that we put them on her... usually over her clothes. One day she decided to wear them a little differently.

While Marley was with us she found in the closet the backpack/leash that we bought for Rowynne when we flew to California without Cory. I got so much flack for getting Rowynne that leash... My sister especially was so appalled by the fact that I got Rowynne a leash, which is why I find it so funny that her own daughter wore that same backpack/leash all week. In fact she refused to take it off. She called it her Monkey Backpack... which was funny because it actually is a bear. But I guess I can't blame the kid for being confused by the long tail! LoL

Maybe Marley will be getting her own Monkey Backpack for Christmas...

For Halloween both Marley and Rowynne were Fairy Princesses. They had matching tutus, wings and even a crowns and a wand. I was excited about this year because Rowynne is the age where Halloween actually means something. She might not have had a clue as to why we were dressing up or started going door to door. But when that first person put that piece of candy in her bag she was all for it. She would get so excited about going to each door, it was so much fun watching her this year. Plus it made it that more fun since Marley was with us this year. She was the one that said "Trick or Treat" since Rowynne hasn't got that one down yet. Next year maybe we will have all three with us! Can't wait!

First Door....

The doors with candy out on the door step where a bit of a learning curve. The girls thought the buckets were fair game we had some melt downs trying to pull them away after taking only one piece.

The Look of fear on Marley's face is classic. Some of the decor on the doors was a little too scary for the little ones. There were a couple doors the girls didn't even want to get near... not even for candy!

Trick or Treat

One of the houses we went to had this really cool toy dispenser. The girls loved trying to use the joy stick to grab a prize. We let them do it a couple of times.... shhhh don't tell!

Pumpkin Carving

Cory's Family has a big Pumpkin carving party before Halloween, but since this year Cory had class and Rowynne fell asleep I was the only one who had carved there pumpkin. So on Halloween my sister Gillian decided that she was going to finish our pumpkins for Halloween.

Marley helped pick out the designs that Gillian carved. She kept trying to put the pieces that Gillian was carving from the pumpkin back in the holes. It was hilarious. Gillian would pull it out and then Marley would put it back in. So cute.

For Halloween my Mom/Nana got the girls matching Skeleton jammies. The night before Halloween we had to get them out so they would be in the Halloween spirit. The best part was that the Skeleton was glow in the dark and both Rowynne and Marley would totally freak out scared when we turned out the lights and showed them the Skeleton in the mirror. I guess even Pink Skeleton jammies can be scary to the under 3 crowd.

While my sister and dad were here for the week after Kynnedi was born, Gillian decided to make cupcakes with the girls. Gillian is a big fan of anything sweet so Cupcakes was the logical idea.

The girls were excited to bake cupcakes, any excuse for these two kids to lick the egg beaters!

Side Note: Marley and Rowynne had gotten into the headbands/bows so that would be the reason for the interesting head ware in these photos! LoL

Going Home

We decided to only stay at the Hospital for 24 hours after my delivery. If both baby and I were doing well I wanted to be home with my other baby sooner rather than later. So we left the hospital friday night late... Kynnedi wore the same outfit home that Rowynne did. It's amazing what just a pound can do on a newborn because Kynnedi fit in the outfit perfectly but Rowynne had gone home swimming in the same outfit. It was a funny comparison, I wonder if Kynnedi will keep up on her bigger status and one day be bigger than her older sister! LoL

Sisters First Meeting

I actually have TWO GIRLS.... its like my dream come true. I was super excited about Rowynne coming to the hospital to finally meet Kynnedi. I had no idea how she would react or if she would even care. I'm happy to report that it was a loving happy meeting.

Rowynne at first didn't seem to care much about the new baby she just wanted her Mommy to hold her... which I guess is normal since we had been at the hospital away from her for two days. But after her little Mommy moment she was very interested in the baby. She wanted to hold her and give her kisses... so sweet.

The Baby Day- October 27th, 2011

October 27th was a big day for our family, we brought into this world our second baby girl Kynnedi!

It was a very special day!

I (Meygen) was scheduled for an Induction on the 27th... everyone said that she was going to come before hand but Kynnedi waited till the last moment so we gave her a little help in joining the world. I was excited for my induction, Rowynne had also been induced so I was used to the idea. It's nice to know when exactly that baby is coming so you can prepare a little more. Cory and I were waiting the morning of the 27th for that phone call from the Hospital saying that it was our turn to come in. They made us wait... till 10:30 which was like agony to me, with Rowynne we knew by 7:00 in the morning. It was hard to wait not knowing whether it was going to be the day or if they would make us wait.

We got to the hospital by 11:00 and I was filled with butterflies. Even though this was my second baby and I knew what to expect this time I was still nervous about going through the whole process again.

39 Weeks

After I had my IV in and had the Pitocin in my system the countdown had begun. My doctor had assured my that the second time around would be a much quicker labor than the first. I had hoped he would be right. It seemed at first like I had a slow start, my contractions were small and I wasn't dilating very fast. It seemed like I might be there for a while! After my progress was still very slow my doctor upped my Pitocin levels.. my nurse kept saying that I was having weak contractions and they were hoping that with the higher dose of Pitocin my contractions would become more intense and would start actually doing the job. Unfortunately they didn't my doctor ended up increasing my Pitocin a second time... and still not much difference. They put me on an internal contraction monitor so that they could accuratley determine how strong my contractions were. It was funny how all of us in the delivery room were glued to that screen. I was glad I had so many people in the room to keep my company; my sister Gillian, Lynnette, and Robyn and even my Mom was there through the computer on skype.

After what seemed like forever... The Doctor said that it was time to push. I have to say that I was totally surprised, the contraction monitor had never really shown that I was having hardcore contractions, we all thought that I was still progressing slowly. It all seemed to happen very fast, nurses came rushing in all kinds of monitors for the baby were all the sudden in the room. I was seriously in denial that it was all happening so fast. Lucky for me the fast continued... I pushed a total of 4 times and Kynnedi was out. Even writing about it now I still can't believe that it happened so fast. After pushing for two hours with Rowynne I just assumed Kynnedi would be something similar. I never thought that my whole delivery would happen in less than 10 minutes. I hope that all my future children will be just as easy.

Kynnedi was one of the biggest babies born in the hospital that night. She was more than a pound bigger than Rowynne was. It was funny to see her in the nursery with all the other babies and her looking so huge next to them. Kynnedi was so different from Rowynne she came out with light colored hair, the nurse even thought she might be strawberry blonde and I finally got a little one with blue eyes. Cory got his little mini me with Kynnedi. It's amazing how different Rowynne and Kynnedi are, it will be fun to watch them grow up and change together.

We had the annual Ivins Halloween party this year as usual... However this year I was hoping to have a baby by the time this party came around, but the baby was taking her time. So Rowynne and I went to the party on our own, Cory had school so was unable to make it. Unfortunately the second we got there Rowynne fell asleep, so she missed all of the carving fun.

I made these really cool sugar cookies from scratch for the party... they look like Candy Corns!

Hee Haw Farms

To celebrate the Halloween season we went to Hee Haw Farms. Hee Haw Farms is a great family fun place they have a pick your own pumpkin patch, hayride, animal train, pony rides, and many other fun activities. We had a blast, I'm glad I got my 9 month pregnant self off the couch and out the door... it was so much fun and totally worth it.

One of the activities was this huge corn pit. It was filled with tons of corn kernels. The kids were having a blast, it was going everywhere. Kids were stuffing it down their pants and throwing it in the air. I tried to burry Rowynne it ther kernels but she totally freaked. She just wanted to throw it.

After the corn pit we headed straight to the Petting Zoo. Rowynne was so funny she kept calling all of the animals "Puppies," I guess we need to start working on our animal names. We even got some food to feed the animals, Rowynne was loving it till the Pig put Rowynne whole hand in its mouth... after that she was totally afraid of the animals. Every time one would get close she would run to either Cory or I to pick her up. I hope she will get over the fear soon!

Stroller Gym

A few weeks ago I walked into the living room and found Rowynne climbing in the bottom of her stroller. She had turned the stroller into her very own personal jungle gym.

It was hilarious... at one point she even got stuck in the stroller. But as soon as I got her out she was right back to trying to climb through it again. Gotta love the kids determination!

Rowynne got her first haircut! We had stopped at the Great Clips by our house for Cory to get his haircut, when we asked if the lady cutting his hair if she would give Rowynne a little trim as well. Her hair is still pretty short but she still had a lot of her baby fuzz that had grown rather long. Mommy wanted the baby fuzz gone so we decided it was time for her first haircut!

As usual she did great! She is such a mellow kid the haircut didn't even seem to bother her. She sat perfectly in the chair, watched herself in the mirror, and did awesome through the whole event. She got a little ancy toward the end so we gave her a lollipop and she was great through the rest.

The Utah State Fair

We love the State Fair... I personally enjoy it for the food, Rowynne loves the animals, and Cory loves all the weird stuff they sell. Hence the throwing star that he insisted on buying this year!
We were worried when Rowynne fell asleep the second we pulled up that she was going to miss everything, but it was like she could hear the animals calling. She loved looking at all the different animals, sometimes she is a little too brave for me. But it is super fun to watch her interact with the animals.

This was Cory's choice of food at the Fair. We usually give ourselves each one item that we can choose, otherwise I think we could easily spend all our money just on food at the fair. It all looks so good. Cory chose the Deep Fried Bacon Wrapped Twinkie I know it sounds repulsive, but in the end Cory loved it and I have to admit it wasn't that bad. I don't think I would ever want to eat one in its entirety myself. But I enjoyed my few bites!

We bought a few tickets to play with and Rowynne got to jump all by herself. This was the first time she had ever been in a bouncy house... I think she was a little overwhelmed. She mostly just stood inside not a lot of jumping actually occurred. But she didn't seem like she wanted to get out. So we deemed it a success!

This time I actually talked Daddy into riding the Merry GO Round. He usually refuses because they make him motion sick.. but I used my Prego card and he rose to the occasion. I don't think he enjoyed it much but at least he didn't throw up!

While other people may be remembering a Sad day in America's History on September 11th - The Ivins family is celebrating the birth of the best husband/daddy/brother/son in the whole wide world. It has been tough having such a downer of a birthday for Cory, but he always is upbeat about it. He was born first! We try to still remember the day for what it is but then we also always make sure we celebrate for Cory.
Rowynne and I made Cory his favorite.... Funfetti Cupcakes with Rainbow Chip Icing. Since Cory's birthday was a sunday this year we brought Cupcakes to our Primary Class and I made them sing Cory Happy Birthday as loud as their little lungs could scream it. I'm sure we disrupted a few classes that Sunday.. but hey it was worth it for my Man!

Don't know what I would do without him... but I'm are sure glad that he was born so we can spend eternity together!

Peterson Family Reunion

The Peterson Family Reunion had finally arrived.... Cory, Rowynne and I went up on Friday afternoon and slept in the trailer withe the rest of the Ivins clan. It was a bit crowded but everyone had a place to sleep, and the Trailer was super nice this year. The weekend was fun, it was nice to just hang out with the family. Rowynne was a dirty mess pretty much 24/7 until we left. All she wanted to do was play in the dirt, you could tell she was enjoying herself.

Davidson Family Reunion

July 21-22, 2001

After our trip to San Diego, we all traveled together back to Utah so that we could make it to the Davidson Family Reunion. It was nice to see family that I haven't seen in years. The Davidson's don't see each other every year so when we do its always that much more dramatic because everyone has changed so much.

The first thing Rowynne did was get out of the car and lick a rock.... Not sure why?

This was her first real camping trip... I guess she was excited!

Our campsite was very cool it had this fun little creek that the kids played in all weekend.

Plus since the water was so cold we used it as our fridge as well.

Our tent's are in the back. This is the first time that we used our tent that we got when Cory and I got married. We even used the sleeping bags we got for christmas.

And they all said I couldn't camp... I showed them!

Our camp site was right down the road from Porcupine Reservoir, the water was a tiny bit warmer than the creek but as long as you were in the tube it was perfect. Neither of the girls liked being in the water it was too cold, but they loved hanging out on the tubes.

La Jolla Shores

A trip to San Diego just wouldn't be the same without a trip to La Jolla Shores with Denise and her whole crew. I was so glad that we were able to be in California the same time as Autumn and her family, it was fun to bbq and play games on the beach just like we used to when we were little.

While Rowynne and I were visiting in San Diego my Mom took us to the Zoo. I haven't been for so many years, it was fun to go back and see how much has changed. It was a lot of walking for being 6 months pregnant but I managed pretty well. It was a fun day hanging out with the Girls!

While at my Grandma Kathy's house we pulled out the old toy box from when we were kids and low and behold we found the dress up wigs . We put the wigs on each of the girls and well needless to say neither one of them was very happy about it. But us grown up enjoyed a good laugh!

My Mom takes Marley to many different park around were we live, and Marley has given each of them a name. This park that we went to was deemed the "Pirate Park" by Marley because some of the structures looked like Pirate Ships. Marley loved showing Rowynne around the park... mostly Rowynne sort of just tried to keep up. But the two of them had a blast together.

Over by my Aunt Toy's house they have this cool water park, it's really more like a bunch of sprinklers and misters set up all over the park but the kids love it. Rowynne was a little worried about it at first, but she warmed up with a little help from Auntie Gillian. She would only run through the mister if Gillian was holding her hand.

Since we don't actually have a pool at our own house we tend to go over to Julie Prows house a lot in the summer. I actually used to babysit Julie's kids when they were little... now the oldest one just got married and another one is on a mission. Seriously where did the time go! But luckily for us Julie says we are always welcome! So we went to the pool and cooled off with a little swim!

After the girls came home from the park we were all just hanging out at the house, when both Gillian and I looked at each other and were like "it's really quiet in there"... both of the girls had been playing together in my Mom's room which normally you would be able to hear the screams! However the closer we got to my Mom's room we started to hear little giggles.... and then we walked around the corner and this is what we saw. It seemed like everyday we were in San Diego my Mom was taking the girls to another park. They had to go early before the slides were burning hot from the sun, so this day I slept in and let Nana take over. The girls loved the park, Rowynne is just getting big enough that she can climb on everything and follow Marley around fairly well.

So this year I turned 26.... I know I'm old. I seriously don't know where the time is going I don't feel like I have been around for this long but I guess now that I am about to be the Mother of two I can officially say that I'm not a kid anymore! My poor husband was kind enough to let me stay in San Diego on my birthday... but I did miss him terribly, but it was nice to spend my birthday with friends and family I haven't seen in forever. Like Autumn's family, they live in Hawaii and if I'm lucky I get to see them once a year. But I was so excited to hear that they were visiting the same time I was and even better I got to see them on my birthday!

The Beach

We of course had to make our way to the beach, what's a trip to San Diego without a trip to the beach. Rowynne has been to the beach before but this is the first time that she was big enough to play in the sand by herself. Needless to say she had a blast... I knew she would. Rowynne loved playing in the sand we made sand castles and she would knock them down. We even buried Marley in the sand!

After only being home in San Diego for more than a few hours the girls were back to playing like they had never been apart. I'm so glad that Rowynne has such a fun cousin Marley, I only wish she was closer so they could play like this all the time. The girls love to play together and dress up was no exception. This is really Rowynne's first experience with dress up, the past few times we have visited she has been to small and we really don't have any back home. So Marley shared... (however at first a little unwillingly)... all her princess shoes, tiaras and dresses with Rowynne. They both looked so cute and Rowynne was getting really into it. She kept trying all the different Princess shoes... she would take one off then put the next back on, with a little help from Auntie Gillian!

Because I have the best husband in the world... he didn't mind that Rowynne and I took off for a couple of weeks and flew down to see my family in San Diego. I knew it was probably going to be the last time that I would get a chance to see them for some time so I decided to leave the hubby at home and spend some time with my family. Cory would have loved to come but with starting a new job and all he wasn't able to take the time off. So Rowynne and I packed up our stuff and headed to the Airport. Rowynne has been on a plane before but back then she was only a few months old... so this was the first plane ride that Rowynne was big enough to cause me worry for the flight!

But she did great! She did take a major poop half way through the flight, thank goodness its only a couple hours long. So I say sorry to all those around me who had to smell her.... but other than that she was an angel baby. Not saying that it was easy... because believe me it wasn't. However she didn't really fuss and I was able to keep her occupied with my tons of goodies I brought to keep her busy. A nice old lady even commented that she couldn't believe how good she was on the plane.... SMILE!

After Bear Lake we rushed back down to Lehi so that we could make it to Grandma Peterson's Annual 4th of July BBQ. I guess this was the first time that Rowynne has been old enough to participate in all the kid fun that goes on at Grandma Peterson's bbq because we totally forgot Rowynne's swimsuit. For all the many great grandkids that come they set up a bunch of different blow up pools for the kids to swim in. But since I forgot the swimsuit Rowynne went in hillbilly style... just her diaper!

So the second day at Bear Lake we woke up early and headed out to the beach. The family had rented a boat for the entire day.... and boy did we love every second of it! Rowynne loved to play in the sand with her bucket and shovel and she loved the boat even more. It was such a perfect boating day!

Kyle started the day of with a sunburn before he even made it to the beach...

I guess that's what golfing for three hours without sunscreen will do to you!

Bear Lake.. Ideal Beach Resort

July 1, 2011 -

For the Annual Ivins Family Reunion... we went back to Bear Lake. This time we stayed at the Ideal Beach Resort. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect, we totally lucked out this year!

It was nice to have so much ope ground to play on, including the pools, parks, and miniature golf!

First day there we all had to walk down to the beach and check it out. Nice View!

One Sunday after having dinner at Cory's parents house we had Ice Cream Sandwiches for dessert. Being the nice Mommy that I am... I let Rowynne have the end piece of mine on our way home. She loved it of course but as it started to make a mess the more it melted, I decided I had to take it from her.

Needless to say she cried the rest of the way home!

Goodbye Coke...

So at one of my more recent Doctors Appointments... my Nurse suggested that I hold back on the sugary drinks (which in my case means NO COKE) since my blood pressure was high and I had protein in my urine. Which at this stage of my pregnancy means I could be on the road to get Toxemia. Which if any of you know what that is... its no bueno! Especially at 22 weeks!

So Cory and I went to McDonalds on our way home from the Doctors Office and I purchased my last Coke.... (at least until the baby is born :) ) It was a tearful goodbye and I was sorry to see it go! Hopefully I will make it through this summer without it!

The last night that my Mom, Grandma and Brother were here we all went to the Eagle Mountain Carnival, that really is almost in our backyard. I think that this is one of my favorite things about living in Utah, I love that each city has its own celebration in the summer with parades and carnivals and all kinds of activities. It makes the summer way more fun!

Messiah in America

The reason my Mom and Brother were in town was really because they were both performing in a concert on Temple Square with the Mormon Choral Organization. The concert was called Messiah in America. Messiah in America is a new oratorio depicting the story of Christ's visit to the people on the American continent following His death and resurrection. The libretto is compiled solely from scripture in the Book of Mormon, with music composed by Brett Stewart. The performance features the combined choirs and symphony orchestras from the East Valley Mormon Choral Organization in Arizona, and the Orange County Mormon Choral Organization in California; a performing force of over 600 musicians.

It is hard to describe this concert... I wish that all of you could have been able to attend. The concert has such an amazing spirit, it really is hard to describe. I love the fact that I have been able to see this concert performed twice now... each time it gets better. Thank you Mom and Trey for being such amazing vocalists and letting us be apart of such a wonderful night!

Memorial Day

My Mom and Trey were down for the Concert and they happened to be here over Memorial Day. My Mom and I had always wanted to go up to the big Salt Lake City Cemetery and find all the Prophets headstones, neither of us had ever been before. The Cemetery was so huge I couldn't even believe it. it must have gone on for miles. But it was fun to walk around and remember and honor those who have passed before us. We got to see President Hinckley's grave as well as many other Prophets and we even saw a few of Cory's relatives who had been buried up there.

I love the neighborhood that we live in it is such a great family area. We have about a dozen parks so close to us its amazing. This park happens to be right across the street from our Condo.

Cory and I love spending time at the Park and letting Rowynne just do her thing.

The Hogle Zoo

When Cory got his new job we were ecstatic to find out that he wouldn't have to work on the weekends anymore. So to celebrate we went to the Hogle Zoo on saturday as a family. Rowynne loved the animals I think she liked the bird show the best.... even though it was interrupted by weather we still got to see a few birds fly around. It totally rained for a good portion of the time we were there but I guess that is the good thing about having a Zoo in Utah there are a lot of inside enclosures. So we stuck it out.. Rain and All!

It was a funny show to watch the birds were really struggling to perform... the guy said it was because of the wind and rain. I think only a couple of birds made it to the right spot before they stopped the show. But we still enjoyed it

On our trip to the Zoo we figured out that Rowynne likes to try and escape the stroller if she isn't buckled in. This was Cory's solution, she definitely wasn't getting out of that!

(it would have been too easy just to use the buckle)!

Earrings!

Rowynne got Earrings! For Rowynne's birthday I talked Cory into letting me pierce Rowynne's ears, it took a lot of convincing but he finally agreed! She did so well. I have to admit when we walked into the store I was a little nervous about my plan.... but Rowynne was such a trooper. She got two suckers and hardly cried at all. I think she cried the most when I had to hold her still but after it was all over and done with... No Tears! It was crazy, even the Lady who worked there said she had never had a baby handle it so well.

Needless to say I love them! Even though they make my little baby seem grown up, they are so cute!

This was Rowynne in the chair deciding where to put the dots! She had no idea what was coming!

The final product! I love how they sparkle!
