Volleyball and The Pool!

Just some more fun pics from the games! Marley was a little upset (Tarren's team lost) but don't worry because Nanna will be there to console her! Such a good Nanna Jennifer!

Marley all snuggled up with her Nanna!

It's okay Marley, Tarren will get it back. Don't be sad!

FUN AT THE POOL

Back at the Inn we finally got some down time from the games. So we decided to go for a little swim. None of us lasted too long because the weather was a little gloomy! But it was still fun, Gillian brought out Marley's floaty which she loves. Even though it was freezing she just kept splashing and having a ball. She kept trying to drink the water, but Momma Gillian put a stop to that! LoL!

Marley looks like she is trying to jump out of her floaty and into the pool head first!

Fruit Leather!

Marley discovered Fruit Leather!
It was very funny to watch, we were all sitting around the table playing Phase Ten when Gillian let Marley suck on a piece of Fruit Leather. Well apparently she was super excited about it, because if anyone even came near it she would start freaking out. She sucked on that thing like it was her last meal! It was funny. When Momma Gillian finally took it from her I think she cried and cried. She was super mad at Mom for that one.

She wouldn't let it go!

Funny how the little things can keep the Adults entertained for a long time!

Random Funnies!

So the boys would play like every other hour. So some days we would have a lot of down time. So during this downtime we would get a little silly. We played games, ate, played with the baby... or sometimes just stared at the baby. Everything she does is cute... even when she is sleeping! lol!
Marley eating out of her mesh bag.
It is the coolest thing. You can put anything in it like a piece of fruit or veggie that would normally be too big for her to eat, and she just sucks on it. I think it is the coolest invention ever... She would just suck and suck and go to town on whatever Gillian put in that bag! This day she was eating grapes... or I guess I should say sucking on grapes!

Grandma just being crazy Grandma!
She is demonstrating how to drink your Hansen soda correctly!

Marley was taking the view from way up high on Trey's head.
I bet its a lot different view than she is used too!

This is a fun video. It's Marley dancing around on Gillian's lap during the Volleyball game. She was giving everyone a show. Sometimes it was hard to remember to watch the game... and not her! She is so sticking cute!

Volleyball Fun..... Lots and Lots of Volleyball!

So while I was in San Diego missing my hubby, I was visiting with my family and watching lots and lots of Volleyball. My brothers Trey and Tarren were both in a volleyball tournament the weekend I was visiting, so I got to see them both play which was crazy fun. I never knew my brothers were so talented. They were so great... they both have some much athletic talent... its almost unfair to the other kids. Trey and Tarren were so good they were both dominating on there teams. Fun Fun!

We stayed at the Marriot Inn, with the other volleyball boys. And Gillian, Marley, Mom, and Grandma were all there to cheer the boys on. Well and not to mention let me play with and smother my little niece. So cute! So fun!

At breakfast with Marley and Gillian.
Marley was always the center of attention. Even if she was just eating cherrios!

Grandma and Marley at the Volleyball Games!

Tarren was so huge he barley had to jump at all to stop the ball from coming over. Crazy!

Trey's team... So good!
There games were so intense to watch!

I didn't know that Volleyball could be so much fun!

Musical Fun

Music... Music... Music...

So I went to San Diego a few weeks ago mainly to see my mom perform in her choir. The choir is the Orange County version of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, so its a big deal! It was there big summer concert and boy was it awesome. The concert was in this really crazy looking building... it almost looked like a wave it was cool. The theme of the concert was "America", so they did a lot of traditional songs, but they really are an amazing group. I will be excited when they get there professional CD put out so that you all can hear how truly talented this group of  individuals is. My mom is an amazing singer and it was so great to hear her in musical element. I love listening to my moms voice. She really is an inspiration, I often wished that my musical talent was as great as hers.

It was so great to hear them sing and the arrangements of so many traditional songs were just incredible. You really could feel the talents just bursting out of that room. My mom even made me cry when they sang a long lost verse of "Love at Home", I got a little teary. It was beautiful. I hope that I can hear them sing once again soon!

So, we all know how rainy it's been lately, but the same night we went to the carnival, it rained like the sky itself had fallen!  I have never seen rain like this in Utah.  Only when I was in Brazil during their rainy season have I ever witnessed so much liquid carnage!  The worst part was that the storm drain flooded in the middle of our parking lot!  It was so deep, some cars couldn't even drive through it, but our trusty Jeep got through it just fine, although some of the water hit the radiator and we got a lot of steam, but besides that, everything was fine.  We also decided to see for ourselves how deep it really was.  Meygen donned herself with everything waterproof that she could find and I threw on some shorts and sandals (like any man would), and we headed out.  First though we had to pass under the giant waterfall that was caused by our plugged storm drain which is located directly above the entrance to our building.  After that though, the only wet was from the puddle and the constant wall of water falling from above.

This is the waterfall of water blocking the entrance to our building.  You can't see it too well, but it was a TON of water!

Doesn't Meygen look so cute in her blue coat?  And look how deep she is in the puddle!
And this wasn't even the deepest part of the huge puddle.
I braved the seas in sandals, but there was a lot of crap on my legs afterward.  Ewww!  (please ignore my gut... LOL)

Strawberry Jam and Strawberry Days!

So, last week was Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove and even though we live in Sandy now, we still love going to the fair to participate in the festivities and see all the hillbillies come out of the woodworks.  The strawberry jam wasn't part of Strawberry Days, but Meygen made it the same week so I thought it would be suiting to post along with our other strawberry activities.  So, for Strawberry Days, we made our yearly vigil to the Carnival with the Dustin Family and even with the impending rain, we had a lot of fun!

They're still alive after the crazy rides!

Mmmmmm. . . finger lickin' good!
The merry-go-round that could make anyone dizzy as ever.  It made me dizzy just watching.
This was our last ride, and by then it was pouring rain, but that couldn't stop us!

So all said and done, we had a great time at the Carnival with the Dustins and we can't wait to see the mullets and beer bellies next year!
