Bath Time

Rowynne and Marley taking a bath.... having a blast. However Marley didn't like the no splashing rule with the baby in the tube, she probably would have preferred to be on her own.

July 24th - Pioneer Day

July 24, 2010 -

My family got to Utah just in time to celebrate Pioneer Day. Since my family is from California where fireworks are illegal it was totally new the idea of fireworks you can set off yourself. Growing up we have only ever experienced fireworks in the sky, so Cory went to the store and brought home a huge bag full of fireworks to set off. Needless to say everyone went nuts, Marley was totally freaked, and I was sure that one of the boys was going to set something on fire.

They had so much fun it was awesome to see them all so excited about it. We were making so much noise I was sure one of our neighbors was going to come out yelling. We had a blast and was sad when we ran out, hope they can make it next year and we can get even bigger fireworks.  Happy 24th!

Notice Marley watching the sparker very carefully, she didn't want that thing to get to close.

Rowynne.... So Cute

July 24, 2010 -

I just have to say I think I have the cutest baby in the whole wide world. I'm amazed that Cory and I made something this cute. I know I'm biased but don't you agree.....

Foam Day

July 24, 2010 -

Foam Day! Cory and I had been seeing signs for Lehi's foam day for weeks and we both had never even heard of it. We decided we had to check it out, and it just so happened that my family was here just in time to go. They had arrived early that morning, so after everyone had taken their naps and rested up, we all headed out to foam day.

It was NUTS. I'm not sure what I expected when I heard of foam day, but I wasn't exactly prepared for what I saw. People were soaked, they were running around like crazy. The grass was a huge white swamp.  Needless to say none of us were really prepared for getting soaked... I would suggest bathing suits. Even Marley wasn't too excited about it, she freaked whenever I tried to put her on the ground.

The Foam
Hence the need for goggles and swim suites.

I was mean Aunt Meygen and made Marley touch the foam. I figured she had to do it at least once. She wasn't very happy with me after that.

Rowynne didn't get much action in the Foam.
She spent Foam Day in the stroller, staying safe from the sun.

Foam Day had some cool booths that we walked around. Gillian decided that it would be fun to get Marley's face painted. We all thought she would be a pain and freak out. But she was a little angel.

The Beach

July 18, 2010 -

THE BEACH!
Rowynne's first beach experience (sort of) she didn't actually get anywhere near the water. The water was about 60 degrees way to cold for my little one, way to cold even for me. So we will have to go again when the water is warmer so she can put her feet in.  We had a blast as we usually do at the beach, Denise maned the grill and the rest of us did the eating.

Rowynne spent much of her day at the beach like this.... All wrapped up in her blanket!

The Boys... Coming back from snorkeling in the ocean.

We played Phase Ten.... Dad kicked our butts again. He claims he doesn't remember how to play, but he always wins!

Marley then took over the Phase Ten game

Gillian was making Rowynne laugh. She is such a great Aunt!

Funny Faces of Marley

July 17, 2010 -

While in California I got to spend some much needed time with my niece Marley. I can't wait till Rowynne is this big because Marley is such a hoot to watch. She is always making us all laugh, even when she isn't trying to. She is just too cute!

Gillian was trying to give Marley a new hairstyle and this was what she came up with. We all vetoed it of course, the comb over didn't look that great on a 1 1/2 year old.

Marley and her new Hair!

After the hair change Marley was wondering around the kitchen and tried to sit on the cooler. No one told her that the lid wasn't very sturdy, because as soon as her little toosh hit the seat she fell right in. And instead of running to her aid, we all sat around and took pictures instead. We are such great people!

Marley didn't appreciate the fact that we all just sat there while she was stuck in the cooler.

Grandma Dicey and Dad

July 17, 2010 -

One of the many reasons I decided to make the trek down to California this summer, was my Grandma Dicey was in town all the way from Kentucky. It has been quite a few years since I had seen her, and I think the last time I visited Kentucky I was 12. So it was so fun to be able to see her and to have Rowynne meet her Great Grandma Dicey for the first time was awesome.

My Dad was also meeting Rowynne for the first time since she had been born. Although we are constantly sending pictures, it meant a lot that he was able to meet her in person before she got too grown up. I thank my special husband for letting his girls go without him. It meant so much to be there.
