Christmas Cookies and Polar Express

December 24, 2010 -

After lights we made Christmas Cookies for Santa and Nana read her grandbabies Polar Express to top off our Christmas Eve night.  It was a very special moment for Nana. I'm super glad that we were able to come down to San Diego to spend Christmas for our family.

The big Cookie for Santa. Marley decorated it!

Reading Polar Express.. with two very tired girls!

Even Tarren got into it!

Time to go to sleep so that Santa will come!
Merry Christmas

Christmas Lights

December 24, 2010  -

After we opened our Christmas Jammies we decided to get in the Christmas Spirit by looking at some Christmas Lights.  We had a couple of really cool places near by.. one was called Christmas Card Lane. Almost every single house was decorated... most followed the "Christmas Card"  theme. It was a lot of fun. Rowynne fell asleep of course the second we got in the car, but Marley loved it she was practically hanging out the car door window to see the lights.

The girls ready to go look at some Christmas Lights!

Rowynne enjoyed the lights so much that she fell asleep

In a neighborhood close by the whole community does Luminarias.  A Luminaria is a white bag that is lit up by a single candle. They cover the entire community up and down the side walks and in front of houses.  It is such a pretty sight. I love that they still do this every year.

I loved the Wall E display... Such a cute idea!

Christmas Eve Jammies

December 24, 2010 -

Christmas EVE!!! So excited that it was Christmas Eve finally. Cory and I tried to skype with Cory's family back in Utah but it didn't work to well so we opened our Christmas Eve presents from Cory's Grandma and Grandpa Ivins. It is a family tradition that all the kids get to open a present on Christmas Eve... this year even Rowynne got one.

So we decided to go ahead and open the gifts.....

Rowynne was excited she finally got her hands on a present!

Mommy and Daddy and Rowynne.... about to open!

Rowynne tried to eat her present first...

I started it for her and then she just wanted to eat the paper

Now Christmas can officially begin.

Bath Time

December 24, 2010 -

We had to have clean babies so that Santa would visit us... so the grandbabies got a bath. I added some bubbles mainly for Marley since that is what she is used to, but I guess I added more than normal because the girls had LOTS of bubbles. Rowynne enjoyed them!

At first Marley had a hard time sharing her bath toys with Rowynne but it got a little better toward the end.

Rowynne and Marley with all the bubbles

Nana thought it would be cute to get the girls in Santa Hats.... Marley didn't think it was so fun!

This was the best face we got of Marley. She was not having the Santa Hat and ended throwing it in the water! That stinker!

 Bath Time Santa Rowynne

After the Santa Hat fiasco.... Marley still didn't forgive us. Rowynne didn't seem to care! LoL!

Happy Christmas Eve!

Aunt Toy's House of FUN

December 22, 2010 -

We went over  Toy's house while were in California, of course just to see them and visit but also because my Dad was staying with Aunt Toy while he was recovering from his Stroke, and we had lots of family from Kentucky visiting as well.  Our Grandma Dicey, Uncle Trevor and his son Jamin and Aunt Melody and her sons were all visiting from Kentucky. It felt like a big family reunion at Toy's house. But it was great because I haven't seen family from Kentucky in a long time and most of them had never met Rowynne. It was nice to just hang out and visit.

Rowynne playing in Aunt Toy's Christmas Sleighs!
I think we all thought it was funnier than Rowynne did.

My cousin Rashad was so good with Rowynne, he played with her for ever.
He is going to be a great pediatrician some day.

The Family playing Mexican Train... Of Course!

December 23, 2010 -

The next day we had a big dinner over at Toy's since Uncle Trevor and Jamin were leaving the next morning so they could spend Christmas at home. We had steak and potatoes and yummy butternut squash. All the things that aren't helping me lose any weight this holiday season.  It was delicious!

Auntie Gillian was feeding Rowynne some Butternut Squash. She loved it!

 Everyone chowing down...
Tarren, Cory, Grandma Dicey, JeJuan, Mom, and Melody

 Rowynne and Marley... Playing.
Rowynne has definitely been much more aggressive towards Marley this time around. She has for sure been holding her ground when it comes to toys and such with Marley. We have had to intervene a few times because it was getting a little two heated for a 2 year old and a 7 month old.

One of the few pictures that I got with Tarren smiling normally!

Marley was helping show Rowynne how to walk. Aren't they cute in their matching outfits.

California Here Come The Ivins....

December 21, 2010 -

We traveled down to California for Christmas Tuesday night. We decided  that it would be easiest to travel at night so that Rowynne would sleep instead of be awake for the ten hour drive. We of course left Utah the day that it snowed... in fact it was snowing as we drove from Eagle Mountain. We were a little worried about the drive, we were hoping the weather wouldn't be to difficult.

It seemed that the farther we got from Utah the worse the weather got. The storms in California were definitely felt. We had more snow, fog, wind, and lots and lots and lots of rain. The rain and wind were the worst. At some points it was even hard to control the car at all from the wind, I'm sure if you had seen the car you would have thought I fell asleep we were swerving so badly. The rain also continued to get harder the closer we got to San Diego. Cory and I switched driving because the rain was getting so bad I didn't feel comfortable driving anymore... Cory drove the last two hours for me!  Such a nice hubby!

The only great thing about the drive was that Rowynne slept the whole way, we didn't much of anything from her the entire 10 hours. We were glad when we finally pulled up to my Mom's house... it seemed like we would never make it.

Cory making crazy faces while he was driving. Anything that keeps him awake!

Rowynne... she woke up while we were getting gas in Beaver. She didn't look happy that she was awake. But she was out as soon as the car started moving again!

Our little car was packed to the max. Filled with Christmas presents and whatnot.
I seriously don't know how we would have flown.. we have way to much stuff.

10 hour drive with baby... A success!

Peterson Christmas Party

December 18, 2010  -

The Peterson Christmas Party is finally here! We have been waiting all year... well at least I have been. Last year we had the party at Soldiers Hollow and this year it was at the same place. Only last year I wasn't able to participate... since someone was still in my tummy. So needless to say I was excited.

We all had dinner together we were entertained by some songs and definitely good food. After dinner we all headed out to the hill. It was raining and the snow was super slushy but we all had a blast! It was great can't wait till next year when Rowynne will get to ride down the hill!

Sleeping Beauty

December 17, 2010 -

Rowynne didn't have a nap all day so I knew that she was tired, but I guess I didn't realize how tired. I put her on the couch while Daddy played his video game..... and I guess the race was so boring (sorry Daddy) that she fell right asleep. It was so cute.

 My precious baby girl!

The big couch all to herself....

Rowynne's Pull Ups

December 1, 2010 -

Rowynne isn't actually moving yet... no crawling or anything. But she has been trying to pull herself up on things. Which you think she would do after crawling and trying to walk. But this baby likes to do the hard things first! I am a little bit worried when she actually can crawl and walk, this house will have to have a serious baby proofing session!

Trying to pull herself up...

Rowynne's little head peeking up above the coffee table.

She is so close... but not yet!

Lucky Me... for now at least!

Christmas Tree...

December! It's finally the Christmas Season. After getting our tree it took us a few days to finally get it all decorated. Rowynne was a big help. She kept trying to eat the balls and the beads... pretty much anything thats on the tree was probably at some point in Rowynne's mouth. LoL!  I even got a few gifts wrapped!

Rowynne is front of our Christmas Tree... 7 months old!

I made Rowynne sit next to the tree so I could take some pictures. Normally she doesn't get that close to the tree. And since she isn't mobile yet it's pretty easy to keep her away from it so she doesn't eat anything or pull anything off.

She actually got one of the presents open before I could stop her. I guess it was a good thing it was hers.

She was very fascinated by the balls.....

The finished product... So beautiful
