The Roof

YEAR  1
Cory and I have officially hit our 1 year mark. It was a lot of fun to celebrate such a happy first year. We said that we would return to the roof the scene of our engagement every year on July 23rd. I'm glad that we made this deal with each other because wow it is so good. The last time we were hear I had just been proposed to so I was a little shaken up and didn't each much, which really is a crime when you are at the Roof.  Well this time I was ready for some good eats! It was so good, I really can't describe how good everything is. Cory and I left the Roof stuffed and satisfied.
One of the many desserts plates I came back to the table with. With carrot cake, key lime pie, and peach crapes its really hard to pick just one!

Video of Cory and I at the Roof!

Cory and I sat in the Joseph Smith Building's Lobby after eating just to be able to sit after eating so much food. That place is really very pretty.

Cowabunga Bay with the Dustin Girls!

We took the Dustin Girls to Cowabunga Bay one saturday to give their parentals a break for the day. The girls had a blast! Even the little ones went on a few rides on my lap. They all enjoyed the lazy river the most, but mainly they just enjoyed bouncing on the tubes in the wading pool.
Smiles all over

The girls playing in the tubes!

Look how cute! She kept walking around in her robe! I couldn't get it off her!

More tube playing

Overall it was a very wet and fun day!

Novell's Lagoon Day!

Cory and I got to go to Lagoon for free this summer, because Novell has a Lagoon Day every year. We get in for free and they even provide us with lunch. It was nice. We had a fun if not very hot day at Lagoon riding all the rides and hanging out with Cory's friends from work. It was a blast! Can't wait till next year and we can go again!
This is me and Cory on the swings.... Don't we look happy!
This is my favorite ride, I feel like a kid again.

Rattlesnake Rapids.... One of those you don't have any choice but to get wet rides. It took a while for Cory, Tyler, and Tiffany to talk me into the Rapids. I had been dreading it all day. I hate getting wet... and well ladies some of you might understand. I wasn't looking forward to the wet hair look at Lagoon. Not so cute if you know what I mean! But eventually I gave into the peer pressure!
Me and Cory a little nervous as the Rapids were getting a little more rocky.

Cory and I in the aftermath of getting totally soaked!

So at the end of the Rapids is this huge waterfall. Which basically if you have been lucky enough to not get wet throughout the ride, this waterfall will make sure that you have no other choice but to leave soaking wet.  I think if anyone had been watching our little group out there on this ride they would have been laughing like crazy if they had seen us all trying to avoid the big waterfall. We all ended up trying to fit four people in one seat. Which as I can tell you from personal experience does not work very well. Needless to say it didn't help us much because we all ended up going right under it, even after running around the raft. So I ended up walking around Lagoon the rest of the day with a big curly fro! LOL!

Go Lagoon!

Cory thought he was taking a picture not a video. Its funny!

Benihana... Birthday Continues!

For my Birthday dinner Cory took me to Benihana's. It was very fun and very delicious. It was sort of an adventure just to find it. Benihana's is hiding behind some very big buildings in Downtown Salt Lake City, but lucky for us we found it eventually after walking around the whole block!  The food was great and so was our chef. He did the Onion volcano and threw shrimp in his hat. He was a lot of fun.
Me in front of the Benihana sign.... wearing my birthday hat (which is actually the kids menu)

Our chef cooking away! :)

Cory made me try some sushi, he had made me promise that I would try some before we went to the restaurant. So Cory picked the Sushi Sample... which I thought would consist of a bunch of different rolls, like a California roll with different types of avocado, cream cheese... things of that nature to help me get over that fishy taste.

Sushi Sashimi Sampler

Well needless to say that was not what we received. We had un-knowingly ordered Sushi Sashimi Sampler. Which if you are a Sushi lover will know that Sashimi Sushi is all together very different from a roll. Sashimi is just a piece of raw fish over a square of rice. Nothing yummy in-between. So i tried first the piece with shrimp... which was easy. But then I tried the Salmon and well it didn't sit very well. I got one piece down with a little help from my strawberry smoothie but ended up spitting out my piece of Tuna. I felt like a baby... but I just couldn't get it down, I guess that fishy taste is just not for me. I know that Cory was a little disappointed because he was hoping I was going to be his Sushi buddy... but I guess not!

Me about to eat my first piece of Sushi..... I look worried!

Cory wasn't too surprised by my reaction to the Sushi!

Me and Cory enjoying our food!

This was my fun ice cream cake and candle that they gave me it was cool.
Oh and did I say it was super yummy!
They sang happy birthday while banging these weird drums.

This ended my 24th Birthday... Lucky Me!

Happy Happy 24th Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Me... July 10th I turned the big 24! I know crazy how time flies... Unfortunately I had to work on my big day but Cory got up early and set up all my gifts before I went to work that morning. It was sweet. I got my birthday cereal.... White/Ivins family tradition and a lot of really cool gifts. I had been asking for a bread maker and food processor for some time... so I was glad I finally got them and plan to put them to good use. I also got a movie and the coolest picture of the temple. It looks great on our wall.

Thanks to all my family and friends for all the many birthday wishes and presents. It would be hard to list them all. I love you all so much, thanks for making my special day all the more special!
Me with all my unopened gifts... and Birthday Cereal - Blueberry Frosted Mini-Wheats
My presents OPENED!

Oh this was the yummy cake that Cory got me. It had dipped strawberries on the top, I think that was my favorite part! Super Yummy!

Thanks My Love!

FIREWORKS!

We did Fireworks with the block. By the end of the night we had a pretty good crowd. It was fun to set some things on fire. Cory brought his gun, which made some of the big ones explode pretty far.  Not all of them worked, but the ones that did where awesome! My hubby is so smart... and a little fire crazy!

The Privetts and Lynette and Mark
And Kiera and Kasha of course!

Our big fireworks pack.... we had so much more than this it was nuts!

Chersty holding the firework gun that Cory made in our living room.
And he had all his fingers and toes when the night was over... I was glad!

Fireworks are Fun

Cowabunga Bay

On the 4th of July after the big family BBQ, Cory and I went to the new water-park next door to our house. After stuffing our faces we had to work it off by running up and down the stairs and riding all the slides. It was a lot of fun. We were worried it would be packed but I guess since it's so new... (It's only been open for a few weeks) not to many people know about it. We had tons of fun riding the slides and just floating along on the lazy river! It was a blast and a good way to end the 4th.

Cowabunga Bay... The water park!

The big bucket would drop like every 10 minutes. We would stand under it and just get hammered by a ton of freezing cold water! It was awesome!

Cory in front of some of the slides!
It wore us out! Cory looks tired!

Me in front of the cool car.
Cowabunga sort of had an old school feel. With old signs and cars all around, it was a fun theme.

We stayed till closing and then went and played with fireworks!
Overall it was an awesome 4th!

Happy 4th!

We celebrated the 4th in true American style. Stuffing our faces till we couldn't move. We went to Grandma Peterson's home in Lehi, where the entire Peterson Family was gathered for the traditional July 4th BBQ! It was a lot of fun but by the end of the day we were tired, I guess thats what eating a ton of great food will do to you!

Regan, Chersty and Cory.... All feeling the sleepy side affects of too much food!

Just being our wierd selfs! Gotta keep things interesting!

MORE Videos!

So just a few more fun videos of the Volleyball weekend.

This video is of Gillian making Marley laugh. All you have to do is shake her a little and she busts out laughing! It's cute! I have such an awesome little niece!

The next video is Me trying to show you Tarren playing volleyball, but of course I got distracted by the baby once again! Sorry Tarren, next time I will try and focus!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

We went out to dinner on Fathers Day with the whole crew. For the kiddies they had these little bull hats. We made tarren put one with Marley. And then Trey and Tarren wore them the whole time we ate. While Marley threw hers on the ground over and over because her Aunt Meygen is a sucker and kept picking it up!

The Big Fountain!

After Tarren's last game we celebrated by the fountain. And my celebrated I mean Tarren started taking off his clothes. Such a weirdo! He was acting crazy as usual, but hey thats what makes him fun!

Tarren and Me at the fountain. He is such a good little big brother.
He will always be my little brother that I used to dress up, even if he does tower over me at 6'5'

Jennifer, Gillian, Marley, Me, and Grandma Kathy
The whole Girly crew!

My little Sis and I and her beautiful baby girl... Marley!  It was so much fun to spend the weekend with them, to see all of Marleys fun little tricks. I miss all this stuff!

Tarren being his crazy self.... Again! I don't know why I'm surprised anymore!

Tarren showing us his MUSCLES!
Step back ladies he is only 16!

I JUST LOVE MY FAMILY!

Volleyball and The Pool!

Just some more fun pics from the games! Marley was a little upset (Tarren's team lost) but don't worry because Nanna will be there to console her! Such a good Nanna Jennifer!

Marley all snuggled up with her Nanna!

It's okay Marley, Tarren will get it back. Don't be sad!

FUN AT THE POOL

Back at the Inn we finally got some down time from the games. So we decided to go for a little swim. None of us lasted too long because the weather was a little gloomy! But it was still fun, Gillian brought out Marley's floaty which she loves. Even though it was freezing she just kept splashing and having a ball. She kept trying to drink the water, but Momma Gillian put a stop to that! LoL!
Marley and her floaty!

Marley looks like she is trying to jump out of her floaty and into the pool head first!

Fruit Leather!

Marley discovered Fruit Leather!
It was very funny to watch, we were all sitting around the table playing Phase Ten when Gillian let Marley suck on a piece of Fruit Leather. Well apparently she was super excited about it, because if anyone even came near it she would start freaking out. She sucked on that thing like it was her last meal! It was funny. When Momma Gillian finally took it from her I think she cried and cried. She was super mad at Mom for that one.

She wouldn't let it go!

Funny how the little things can keep the Adults entertained for a long time!

Random Funnies!

So the boys would play like every other hour. So some days we would have a lot of down time. So during this downtime we would get a little silly. We played games, ate, played with the baby... or sometimes just stared at the baby. Everything she does is cute... even when she is sleeping! lol!
Marley eating out of her mesh bag.
It is the coolest thing. You can put anything in it like a piece of fruit or veggie that would normally be too big for her to eat, and she just sucks on it. I think it is the coolest invention ever... She would just suck and suck and go to town on whatever Gillian put in that bag! This day she was eating grapes... or I guess I should say sucking on grapes!

Grandma just being crazy Grandma!
She is demonstrating how to drink your Hansen soda correctly!

Marley was taking the view from way up high on Trey's head.
I bet its a lot different view than she is used too!

This is a fun video. It's Marley dancing around on Gillian's lap during the Volleyball game. She was giving everyone a show. Sometimes it was hard to remember to watch the game... and not her! She is so sticking cute!
