Gingerbread House!

November 25, 2010 -

While my Mom was in town she helped me make my first Gingerbread House. My mom used to make them almost every Christmas, so I was excited to start the tradition in my own home. It was quite a process... One day we made the dough, the next day we baked the gingerbread and cut out the house, then we decorated it on the third day. I was a little nervous at first.... I'm sort of a perfectionist so I didn't want to mess it up. But my Mom gave me the courage to jump in and get to it. It was a lot of fun I really enjoyed it and I'm glad I got to do it with my Mom and Rowynne.

 The walls of the house...

Piping the frosting to add the roof...

 We added the roof next...

Starting to decorate.... Gum drops for the side of the house.

Rowynne helped by sucking on the giant candy canes.... she had to make sure it tasted okay!

Starting to look more like a gingerbread house....

The back of the house... My gumdrop wreath!

My gingerbread house is cute and edible.
I think my favorite part was the candy cane and gumdrop walk way. So cute! I love it!

 Santa was on the roof....

Can't wait for next years Gingerbread house.... Now that I have the hang of it!

Merry Christmas.... Such a great way to start the Holiday Season!

Thanksgiving 2010

November 25, 2010 -

Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving was great my Mom was in town so it was fun to be able to spend Thanksgiving with her, we haven't had a Thanksgiving together since I went to BYU in 2003. We had dinner at Missy's house Cory's Aunt. It was super nice, I will have to remember these easy years when all I have to do is make the jello salad. It's gonna be tough when Thanksgiving is all on me! But we had a nice relaxing day. The only bummer was Cory had to work, so we brought him a plate (and then some)   so he could at least have the yummy food even if he couldn't be there to enjoy the company.

Missy decorated... it was so cute!

Rowynne was completely fascinated with all the animals on the wall. She just kept starring. I don't think she has seen anything like it!

 Baby's 1st Thanksgiving

Everyone is Thankful for Me... Sooo True!

Yummy Sweet Potatoes.... She liked them much more than Green Beans!

 Nana and Rowynne

Regan, Kyle, Chersty, and Danielle (Kyle's Fiancee)

The Turkey butter.... My mom even bought some the next day so she could have them for next year.

Rowynne was ready for Thanksgiving dinner

This year we are so grateful for family and friends and especially for our little Rowynne.
She brings such joy to our lives.  Happy Thanksgiving! Hope yours was as great as ours.

Peas...

November 21, 2010 -

Rowynne is getting so big so fast, she has started her big girl foods and this was her first GREEN BEANS! I guess Green Beans are a lot different from her usual Oatmeal and Rice cereal they weren't really her favorite. She was making some really funny faces and even gagging when she wouldn't swallow them. It was super funny... I can't wait to try more baby food! Maybe next time she will like it more than Green Beans.

 First Bite....

 Not to sure about it...

 Then comes the Gagging...

And refusing to swallow....

My little Tough Guy

November 18, 2010  -

Aunt Robyn watches Rowynne every Thursday while Cory and I are at work, I usually pack her bag the night before so that Cory doesn't forget anything when he drops Rowynne off.  I used to pack an extra outfit everywhere we went just in case of a blow out, but Rowynne hasn't had one for months. So I have kind of been slacking on the extra outfit thing, this particular Thursday I decided that a extra outfit wasn't necessary. However I guess on this note I was wrong. Robyn said that Rowynne had a very large and messy blow out that day and since I hadn't packed another outfit Robyn got creative in the wardrobe department. Robyn had a shirt that she was planning to give a little boy and some pink pants that she was planning on giving to Rowynne.

Sooo when I came to pick her up this is what I found... My little Tough Guy (In her Pink Pants)!

Cory commented that our son was so cute..... Sad!

Needless to say that I will from now on pack an extra outfit just in case.  LOL!

Box Fun....

November 14, 2010 -

Cory and I bought a file cabinet for our office. The stack of papers in the room had become a little bit crazy, so we had some "fall" cleaning and organizing. The file cabinets came in a large box and Cory of course had to have a little fun with it. Cory cut a hole in the side and made a "house" for Rowynne. I think that Cory was having more fun than Rowynne, but hey it was cute!

Playing in the box!

Rowynne has figured out that she can pull her headbands off her head and play with them... so funny

Vacation (sort of), in St. George!!!

American Fork High School Marching Band hosted the Bands of America Western Regionals this last weekend in St. George, and it was great!  There were so many wonderful bands there and they all did amazingly.  American Fork took second overall and some sandy haired Californians took first.  But that's okay, because AF won last year and they'll win again next year.  Anyway, it was a really nice time for everyone involved.

Meygen and I were able to escape the crazy day to day stuff which was wonderful, we got to go for a bike ride and just enjoy the nice weather.  I took a few hours out of our Saturday, which I must apologize to my dear wife for doing, but our car needed new tires big time.  It was a good thing we got it taken care of too, because the Patriot's alignment was about as straight as Elton John.

Here are a few pics from the trip.

The sink turned out to be the best seat in the house for Rowynne.

Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed their time with the little lady.

Row didn't even notice the camera, she was too busy watching the bands perform.

Here she is with her eyes glued to the field (she even conducted a little as you can see from the video:

Playing in the stands.

Our family and daddy's . . . smile. . .

That's one big "R" for Rowynne.

I don't think she got it.

Set it . .  get on it!

This was on Saturday during the regional's prelims.

Rowynne fell asleep while we were waiting to get back in for finals.

It was a bright sunny day when we left on Sunday.

Megs and I got to go to the Temple on Friday while Grandpa and Grandma watched Rowynne.

This is how you get into the temple for those of you who have never been there.  We really loved it there.  It's a bit different from the more modern temples and it was a wonderful experience to go and visit the house of the Lord.

Signing out,

Cory

Sleepy Girl

November 2, 2010 -

While I was running around the house cleaning and putting stuff away I put Rowynne in her bouncer and put in her Baby Einstein videos that she loves. I guess the video was super boring this time, because it put her right to sleep! It was so cute I had to take a couple pics.... Poor thing!

She can sleep anywhere!
